Smile Foundation Wins CSR Health Project of the Year award
Smile Foundation has won the ‘CSR Health Project of the Year’ 2025 at the 5th Bharat CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards for its primary healthcare work across underserved regions in India.
The Foundation has been awarded for its multi-model healthcare system in 70 districts across 17 states, including 22 Aspirational Districts. The Foundation’s healthcare delivery network consists of Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), Mobile Telemedicine Units, the establishment of static clinics at Transport Nagars, the operation of multi-specialty health camps, and the Smile on Boat initiative. The network enables access to healthcare in the most remote areas, from the states of Ladakh and Jaisalmer to the river islands of the mighty Brahmaputra River.
In FY 2024-25, the programme provided preventive, curative, and promotional healthcare services to 20 lakh individuals through 93 MMUs, 10 telemedicine units, 4 static clinics, and various other initiatives at Rs. 48.62 crore. In addition to providing these services, the Foundation also conducted community screenings and school health programmes, and provided training to ASHA and ANM workers.
“This recognition belongs to the 600+ medical and field teams working across India,” said Santanu Mishra, Co-founder, Smile Foundation, adding that support from corporates, donors, and district health administrations continues to strengthen their mission.
The Smile Foundation has developed various technology-based Diagnostics, Digital health records management, GPS Monitoring, and ReMeDi telemedicine systems to improve access to care, reporting, and operational efficiencies. The Foundation’s efforts support the national goals of Ayushman Bharat, National Digital Health Mission, as well as POSHAN Abhiyaan to reduce the cost of care borne by the individual and increase accessibility of healthcare to the most vulnerable populations in the country.
