The new cemented RCC water channels, which added 335 meters to the existing traditional village irrigation system, have made water flow easier to farms and reduced the time and effort that Sandeep and his family used to spend on water repairs and water distribution.
Now that the farms have a reliable irrigation system, Sandeep and his family have diversified into vegetables, including ladyfinger, brinjal, turmeric and garlic.
This has increased their farm income while also giving them time to undertake other rural activities such as livestock rearing.
Better water management has also improved the biodiversity and productivity of farms in the region.
ACC and the Adani Foundation continue to transform rural realities by supporting the rural communities such as Sandeep’s village.
