First police station with bio-toilet in Delhi

Wockhardt Foundation has installed an environment-friendly bio-toilet at Maurice Nagar police station in New Delhi. The bio-toilet is a waste management concept that alleviates the need for expensive sewage treatment and waste management as it decomposes the solid waste into water and biogas. It only requires a one-time installation, claims the foundation.

‘…the toilet will also play a critical role in preventable healthcare as it eliminates disease-causing pathogens,’ Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO of Wockhardt Foundation, has assured.

Bio-toilets are created and certified by Defence Research and Development Organization and endorsed by the Government of India for being hazard-free.
