Aahwahan Foundation launches Happiness Kit programme in Hyderabad
The Aahwahan Foundation has launched its annual Happiness Kit programme in Hyderabad to provide school supplies to more than 10,000 underprivileged children across India. The initiative, run in collaboration with BDO Rise Pvt. Ltd., will distribute learning essentials to students in several states including Telangana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala and Punjab. In Hyderabad alone, over 1,000 children will be covered this year.
This initiative aims to relieve some of the financial pressure on low-income families from having to purchase supplies necessary for school, by providing a year’s worth of basic school supplies including notebooks, stationery, lunch boxes, water bottles, school bags, and sweaters. The foundation believes that this program will not only increase children’s participation in school but also decrease their risk of dropping out because they are having difficulty paying for the items needed for effective learning.
Foundation Founder and CEO Braja Kishore Pradhan, who attended the launch event along with representatives from BDO Rise, said the programme was created to ensure that financial limitations do not interrupt a child’s education. “Every child carries a dream in their heart, and no dream should fade because of a lack of basic tools,” he said.
Aahwahan Foundation plans to run the initiative every year and expand it gradually to more cities. The organisation said it aims to support students in communities where access to academic resources remains limited and where the absence of basic supplies often becomes a barrier to staying in school.
