HDFC Bank Launches Parivartan Skilling Centre in Meerut in Partnership with Nasscom Foundation To Support Youth Employability
HDFC Bank and Nasscom Foundation has inaugurated a Parivartan Skilling Centre in Meerut to upskill the workforce from underserved communities, preparing them for stable career opportunities.
The centre, part of the HDFC Bank’s CSR initiative Parivartan, will train 1,950 youth in the next three years and create real job opportunities. At least 60% of the participants are women, adding inclusivity to workforce participation.
With full ownership by Nasscom Foundation, the centre will train students in practical aspects for roles in digital and IT-enabled services (ITeS). Apart from technical skills, students will be trained in the basics of working in an organization, communication skills, customer interaction, digital literacy, confidence-building, etc. all of which are necessary for first-time job seekers.
70% or more of the trainees will be put in entry-level positions such as Data Entry Operator, Retail Sales Associate, Front Office Assistant, etc. Around 1,365 youth are expected to secure a job, providing an opportunity for first-time workers to join the formal sector.
Meerut was selected as it is an education hub for many smaller towns around it, where most of the young people are not exposed to digital tools.
