New Delhi, Manesar, Hansalpur, March 26, 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched ‘Jagriti’, a focused initiative aimed at promoting safe driving practices and improving the health and well being of truck drivers associated with its logistics network.
Being held from March 23 to 28 across the company’s facilities in Manesar and Hansalpur, the five day programme is expected to benefit nearly 4,000 drivers involved in transporting finished vehicles and spare parts.
Recognising the demanding nature of their work, the initiative places strong emphasis on both road safety and driver wellness. Through structured sessions, drivers are being trained on key aspects such as defensive driving, the risks of over speeding, the importance of adequate rest, avoiding driving under the influence of alcohol, consistent seatbelt use, and regular vehicle maintenance.
Alongside safety awareness, the programme also addresses health concerns. Preventive health check ups, eye tests, and medical consultations are being offered, along with yoga and meditation sessions to support physical and mental well being.
Speaking on the initiative, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, highlighted that truck drivers spend long hours on the road handling large vehicles, making regular training and awareness critical for ensuring safer roads.
As part of its broader sustainability efforts, ‘Jagriti’ reflects a holistic approach that goes beyond operations, focusing on the people who keep supply chains moving. By combining safety training with health support, the initiative aims to create not just better drivers, but safer highways and healthier communities.
